The client wanted a wall-mounted bookshelf with space for both oversized art books and standard-sized titles. The design had to be clean and minimal, using light-toned wood to keep the space bright and warm. Since they weren’t in their forever home, the piece needed to be easy to disassemble and reinstall, sturdy enough for repeated mounting, and built with minimal fasteners for simple transport. We built the bookshelf using a blend of solid maple and premium maple plywood for strength and stability. Each shelf slots into precisely cut dados to keep everything tight and secure. A water-based finish preserves the pale tone of the maple, maintaining a light, bright look. The final piece is durable, minimal, and easy to install or relocate as needed.
